Welcome. This site contains resources for those interested in writing about their spiritual journeys. In addition to an annotated bibliography and an introduction to the genre of spiritual memoir, I now post weekly writing exercises and monthly reflections on writing as a spiritual practice. I hope to be a support and resource for writers daring to tell the truth about their lives.
Columns:
The Prospectus On the 15th of every month, I sift through church and faith looking for the good grain. I explore my own spiritual questions, especially in the context of my commitment to a small United Methodist congregation.
Seeing Anew: Revising Prose, Self, & the World Revision is our friend! Here I offer monthly reflections on revising prose, and how revision might invite us into fuller lives.
Writing News:
Riding Shotgun is an anthology of midwestern women writing about their mothers. It includes my short essay, "Enough," on how insecurity is passed between generations of women in my family.
